Open collaborations

Project-based work with senior specialists. No employment, no agencies in between.

We don't hire full-time. We engage senior designers, developers, SEO specialists, and photographers on a project-by-project basis. Async, remote, paid through us, vetted before — not after. Same quality bar we apply to client deliverables.

Project-based Async · Remote Net-7 milestone payments

How collaborations work

Four things that aren't negotiable.

If any of these are deal-breakers, we're probably not the right network for you. If they sound like how you already work, we'd like to know you.

01

Project-based, not employment

We don't hire full-time. We engage senior specialists per project under a clear scope and a fixed price. You stay independent. We pay through us so the client only sees one chain of accountability.

02

Vetted before, not after

We don't post jobs to freelance marketplaces. We work with people we've reviewed, tested, and (where possible) collaborated with on a small project first. Quality bar is the same as our client deliverable.

03

Async-first, US time zones

Most communication is written, on private staging URLs and project channels. We schedule sync calls only when the conversation needs voice. Heavy overlap with US business hours preferred.

04

Paid on milestones, not hourly

Same fixed-scope rule we apply to clients applies to collaborators. Each engagement is scoped, milestoned, and paid on delivery. Net-7 payment via Stripe or wire transfer.

01

Senior WordPress front-end developer

Project-based Remote · US time zones preferred
Open

We're looking for senior WordPress developers who build with Elementor Pro and Astra Pro, write performant custom code, and care about Core Web Vitals as a deliverable. ACF Pro, modern PHP, and Tailwind/CSS architecture experience a strong plus.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of WordPress development
  • Elementor Pro and Astra Pro development experience
  • Proven Core Web Vitals 90+ track record
  • Comfortable with async / written communication
  • US time zone overlap (East Coast preferred)
02

Visual / UI designer (WordPress projects)

Project-based Remote · Any time zone
Open

Looking for designers who can run brand-aligned UI / UX work on WordPress projects. Comfortable designing in Figma, exporting clean specs, and iterating async on a private staging URL. Bonus for experience designing for SEO-led sites where conversion architecture matters.

Requirements
  • Strong portfolio with B2B or service-business work
  • Figma proficiency (component-based, design tokens)
  • Conversion architecture awareness, not just visuals
  • Async communication style with written feedback loops
  • 5+ years of UI / UX design experience
03

SEO + technical content specialist

Project-based Remote · US time zones preferred
Limited capacity

On-page SEO and content specialist comfortable writing for regulated industries (legal, medical, dental, real estate). Schema-fluent and Lighthouse-aware. Roster currently has 2 active specialists — we're adding 1 more.

Requirements
  • On-page SEO + technical SEO portfolio
  • Schema.org fluency (vertical-specific types)
  • Long-form content writing experience
  • Comfortable with regulated-industry compliance
  • Familiarity with RankMath, Search Console, Bing Webmaster
04

Maryland-based photographer

Project-based Maryland · On-location
Expression of interest

Photographers based in Maryland who can shoot business portraits, location work, and product photography for client projects. Remote brief, on-location shoot, hand off web-ready assets.

Requirements
  • Maryland-based with reliable on-location capability
  • Business portrait and architectural photography portfolio
  • Web-ready export workflow (sRGB, optimised file sizes)
  • Insured and licensed for commercial work

What we look for

Four traits, across every role.

Specific skills change by role. These four signals show up in every collaborator we've stayed on the roster with for more than a year.

01

Depth over breadth

We'd rather work with a designer who's built 50 dental sites than a generalist who's built one of everything.

02

Async communication

Writing well in Slack threads and PR comments is a job requirement, not a nice-to-have.

03

Care about the launch

Treating Lighthouse 90+ as a deliverable, not a stretch goal. Schema as architecture, not afterthought.

04

Comfortable saying no

Pushing back on briefs that would compromise the work — we trust senior collaborators to weigh in, not just execute.

Application process

Four steps from email to project.

01

Send portfolio + brief

Email a relevant portfolio piece and a paragraph about why this fit. No cover letters required.

02

30-min intro call

We chat about your work, your async style, and the kind of projects you'd thrive on.

03

Small paid trial

Where it makes sense, we collaborate on a small piece of a real project — paid at full rate, scoped at 1-2 weeks.

04

Network onboarding

If the trial goes well, you go on the active roster. We tag you on incoming projects that match your specialty.

Don't see a role you match?

Send your portfolio anyway. We keep a list of senior specialists for roles that open up — performance engineering, accessibility audit, brand design, schema architecture.

Collaboration FAQ

Five questions before you apply.

01 Are these full-time positions?

No. We don't hire full-time. Every role is project-based — you stay independent, set your own schedule, and engage with us on individual projects under a clear scope and fixed price. Some collaborators work with us once or twice a year. Others have ongoing roster relationships and see 4-8 projects annually.

02 How are projects priced for collaborators?

We scope each engagement against your senior rate (the bands listed above are equivalents — actual fee is per-project). For a typical 4-week design engagement on a Growth-tier client, that runs $7,000-$12,000 depending on scope. We pay net-7 on milestone delivery via Stripe or wire transfer.

03 Do you take a cut of my rate?

No, your rate is your rate. We bill the client at our project price; you bill us at your project price. The client doesn't see your invoice, you don't see ours. We absorb the project management, client communication, and revisions overhead — that's the value we add to the engagement.

04 What if I'm not US-based?

We work with international collaborators on the visual design and SEO content roles where time zone overlap is less critical. For development roles we strongly prefer US time zones because of how often we need to ship updates during the client's business hours. Photographers must be Maryland-local.

05 Can I apply if I don't see a role I match exactly?

Yes. The roles on this page are the active ones, but we're always interested in hearing from senior specialists in WordPress, performance engineering, schema, accessibility audit, technical content, and brand design. Send your portfolio with a one-paragraph note about what you'd want to work on.
